Being in Choir

When I was little, I always found fun and joy in singing. Back then, it was just the mindless humming of tunes or singing along to my favorite music artists here and there. When I chose choir as my elective in middle school, I didn’t know what to expect. Although I didn’t realize that being in choir was completely different from casual singing, I quickly grew to love it. Throughout middle school, I took every opportunity offered by my school, and all the regional and solo competitions gave me valuable experience and knowledge.

Now that I’m in high school, choir is even more competitive and enjoyable. With every competition and contest I participate in, not only does my knowledge of music grow, but my confidence and intellect deepen as well. Music challenges my mind to do more with less and teaches me to adapt in situations without much help. Each rehearsal pushes me to become more self-assured and composed under pressure. These lessons go far beyond the audition room: they shape how I approach academics and pursue my goals in everyday school life.
